Elk jaar in april komt Veritas weer met iets bijzonders, een stuk gereedschap waar we verbaasd over zijn dat het nog niet eerder bedacht is. Dit jaar een bijzondere versie van hun low angle jack schaaf.

Nog een fijne paasdag, het is erg koud bij jullie, hier is het net andersom. Overdag tot 40 graden, 's nachts net tegen de 30. Als we om 7 uur naar school fietsen is het al 34 graden, maar wel droog en het is prima te doen.

This latest addition to the Veritas® family of planes is 15" long, has a bed angle of 12°, and a cutter width of 2-1/4". A "bevel-up" plane, similar to our other low-angle planes, it excels at smoothing varying-grain woods, as it has been specifically designed for use in both low-angle and high-angle applications.
In keeping with the design principles of our other bench planes, the adjustable mouth is located further back from the toe than other comparable sized planes. The plane's adjustable mouth can be closed to a narrow slit for fine shavings with minimum tear-out or opened for heavier cuts, all done quickly and easily with the front locking knob.
The generous wooden front knob and rear handle provide a comfortable grip and excellent control. The combined blade feed and lateral adjustment knob makes cutter setting easy and accurate. And what a cutter it is! At the heart of the plane is a revolutionary new blade, with a design based on ancient Greek principles. This Herculean blade leaves the cryogenic guys shivering in their boots (most people cry "Oh" when they see it for the first time). Weighing in at 2-1/2 lbs (that's just the blade) and a full 1" thick, this blade is likely to induce chatter in your bench before vibrating itself. Blades are shipped with a pyramidal storage box, to keep the edge at its sharpest when not in use.
Best use a micro bevel on this one, as you'll wear out entire stones honing the face.
